Chickweed Designs are all one-of-a-kind designs, made from recycled clothing and materials began taking shape in 1999. They are all designed, cut, sewn, appliquéd, silk-screen printed and made into wearable art, by artist/designer, Christine Charette.

These reincarnated garments involve no sweat shop labour in their creation, as they are made in Northern Ontario, with second hand excess clothing waste. When purchasing Chickweed Designs, you are supporting a ‘Made in Canada’, Hand Made, Green Economy. As a caring mother and Earth-conscious person, Christine created Chickweed Designs not only for artistic expression, but to bring forward an awareness that clothing is also a waste byproduct that needed to be remedied.

The inspiration for her moniker "Chickweed Designs" comes from the weed that spreads like mad and is a good tonic for women's health...both of which she wishes to impart with her clothing!
